My entirely unflappable, gorgeous Grandmother is 93 YEARS YOUNG TODAY. She met my grandpa Joe on an airplane some 70 years ago and never looked back, raised 5 kids, baked them cookies DAILY, has seen her kids and grandkids through loss of spouses, jobs, cancer, she still drives herself to the dentist, always laughing. She’s the only thing my Grandpa seems to still remember. Given that I’m almost 40 and I feel about 12, I’m hoping that today she feels about 22, prepping the tiny glasses of champagne for the passengers, turning and locking eyes with a handsome young Sailor, spilling a bit, straightening her skirt, approaching.
