the moment

I officially have a child who is far too busy to sit still with an angel’s resolve and angel’s face so I can get a picture, so I find myself in a lot of Moments feeling like, THIS IS SUCH A MOMENT. I MUST GET A PICTURE OF THIS MOMENT, Joe determined to climb up a slide and laughing hysterically at his own failure. And then I try, and I end with 900 pictures of a sandy butt. It occurred to me this morning that instead of trying to capture the moment, I could LIVE THE MOMENT, and Joe was like WHO ARE YOU TALKING TO and I was like THE A SMALL GROUP OF IMAGINARY UNDERGRADUATES THAT I TEACH IN MY HEAD and Joe was like ARE YOU ALRIGHT? and I was like DON’T WORRY, YOU’LL HAVE THEM SOON, TOO
