We are proud graduates of Loom’s Prepped: The Series birthing class, and while I learned many things that will stay with me forever, and have seen things I cannot unsee — the thing that will definitely never leave me is that for many women, at some point during labor, the pressure is so great that she becomes convinced that the baby is going to come out of her butt, and oftentimes, this compels the woman to shout to her doula or partner or doctor or anyone who will listen, IT’S COMING OUT OF MY BUTT!!!! And then the woman must be convinced that it’s in fact anatomically impossible for a baby to come out of a butt. I feel sufficiently Prepped, because now I know that the feeling can be misleading, and that it’s not based in truth, but I’ll probably shout it anyways, BECAUSE COMEDY.
