It does sometimes feel like: wait, why am I doing this thing? Can anyone hear me? Am I just rubbing my hands around in muck? Shouting things that everyone already knows? But then after the first preview of my heaven play last night, a man with metatastic pancreatic cancer cancer emailed me and said the play ‘made him feel real hopeful about the future.’ No more questions. That is the why.
