Okay: I get it.

Elizabeth has been telling me for YEARS, but guess what,  I finally get that splenda is really, really bad, and that I should stop dumping it in my coffee every morning and that a lifetime of less-sweet coffee is perhaps less bad then, you know, severe liver damage?

Hark:

“The truth is that sucralose (Splenda) does start off as sugar, but it is what happens after that is the problem. In the factory, three chlorine molecules are added to the sugar molecule to make sucralose. This alters the chemical structure of the sugar, making it a molecule that does not exist in nature. Because it doesn’t exist in nature, the body does not metabolize or digest this molecule.”

Hey, how bout we not eat things that DO NOT EXIST IN NATURE UNLESS OF COURSE IT’S SKITTLES
