Now this is just my opinion, and I surely know some great both-theater people couples, but: I think that oftentimes, theater people are best in relationships with non-theater people. Or even broader: it’s best to be with someone who is NOT in your industry. Because when you are all I AM FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS INDUSTRY SPECIFIC THING THAT YOU DON’T FULLY UNDERSTAND AND I AM JUST REALLY FREAKING OUT! The partner is: um, I don’t really know what you’re talking about. Stop freaking out. And thus, the theater person’s panic is NOT indulged. And so, love.
