So: the mayan calendar ends in 2012. Does the world then end? Many believe this. En route from Raleigh to Charleston today, mid-car trip, the kind that makes you want to rip off your clothes, go completely insane and run down the high way, Blaine and I decided to be completely paranoid and indulge the plausibility of  this. Some believe: it’s not necessarily the end of the WORLD, but the end of the world as we KNOW IT. So: what is this shift? Will there be a shift at all? Meteors and tidal waves, narrated by John Cusack? Will we run out of oil? We will start eating butter made of cats? Will we wear cars as hats? Will we wear volcanoes as dresses?? Will we live inside of books? We will die? Will it be a live re-enactment of the Road? will cans of peas be sacred? Our consensus: we just don’t know. And this is pretty much the human condition, this not knowing, but peace found through faith in a greater good.
