This country should have a music president who is in charge of keeping music relevant and alive. THIS MAN SHOULD BE THIS PRESIDENT. A cast recording of his show Hamilton appeared on NPR last week, and it is quite literally all anyone can talk about. His music is addictive and at the same time personal and universal, reflects the country as it is right now, is full of the most wonderful contradictions. Here is an interview if you’d like to be equally obsessed, in which he talks about marrying parts of himself, as he grew into the songwriter he is today: “Growing up is learning how to bring all of your self into the same room.” I want to know everything about him / take piano lessons from him / go back in time to a Fugees concert with him / also wear that shirt / vote for him for the Music President of the United States.
