I’ve had a fellowship with the Lark Play Development Center for almost a year and a half now and have stupidly not been able to take full advantage of it because of TV Land. It’s been no skin off their nose / back / neck/ what? because they are so truly supportive that they know that a girl’s gotta do. I’ve still managed to work on two plays with them, go to Russia and do some readings, and a workshop of my Oregon Trail play in a few weeks – but beyond this sort of developmental support, you can also just use their writing space, which I finally did yesterday. The writing room is like a midtown Oasis. Trapped no more between meetings in gross Starbucks with no wireless! This perfect little room is peaceful, quiet, and inspirational. Work inside this room is only 3% looking at dresses; the rest – good, solid progress.
