Ladies and Gentlemen, Orlando Lupone, son of Bob Lupone, head of the New School for Drama. I attended the reception last night for the third recipient of  the Bekah Brunstetter Playwriting Award in Excellence in Playwritng for the Stage* and afterwards, had dinner with friends and this little guy. I remember when he was crawling up the halls of the Drama building and now he’s like a person and is amazing. See:

ME: SAY THE MAGIC WORD AND I’LL LET IT GO!

ORLANDO: NOOOOO

ME: I’LL GIVE YOU A HINT: THE MAGIC WORD IS LITERALLY ANY WORD THAT YOU SAY NEXT.

ORLANDO: PLEASEEEE

* It’s actually not called this. At all. But instead is the New School Sam French award. More easily rolls off tongue.
