Wouldn’t you know, I had a really great reading today! My morale seriously needed it. Cutie and Bear, the suggar daddy play that I’ve been writing and re-writing for about a year, finally heard it outloud. And you know what? I actually surprised myself! I was like, who wrote this? I wrote this?! Perfect it is not, but: I think there is truly something there (I have somehow rendered a relationship between an old man and a young woman adorable, and somehow secretly linked to the economy) and I think I have, for maybe the first time ever, actually created real people. Or maybe it was that the cast was amazing, because that is also true.
