Some Steve who will remain nameless has, of late, been meeting up with some friends on a weekly basis to partake in this complicated looking and sounding game of swords and gnomes and death. And stuff. This Steve who will remain nameless and his fellow participants at least play ironically while drinking beer and wearing cute shirts. It also makes said Steve say things like ‘I can’t talk now! I’m riding on a giant boar!’ which I pretty much think is awesome.

All stigmas aside, a quick glance at the D&D player’s handbook and I can kind of see the appeal. It has lots to do with math, probabilty, and epic adventures, and returning to one’s youthplace, which is kind of the whole point of a board game, I think. I applaud these gentlemen and their weekly pursuit.
