Le Fou! The Musical!

Slap an ‘I can’t, I have rehearsal!’ tshirt on me, push me in a puddle and call me a Drama nerd, because people, I just love it. More specifically, workshops might be my new favorite thing ever.

Paris! 1899! Perfume! Love letters! Sausages! Synchronized Gestures! Gloves and Vin Rouge and kittens! And also this painting!

If you recall, I’ve been working on this play for quite sometime – and now – drum roll please – it’s a musical. Huzzah! In the spirit of cramming too many things into one play -A composer /lyricist team from NYU has written some really wonderful songs for the play – and Alice Reagan – a director whose experience lies mainly in classical  and movement-y stuff – is at the healm. It’s been pretty amazing thusfar – to see a lyricist take my text and a make song happen, etc.

We’ve been workshopping it this past weekend / this week and will present our findings on Thursday night at 7:30 pm, at New George’s The Room (520 8th Ave / 3rd floor.) I mean, if you’re not doing anything, and if you’re into that sort of thing.
