snot

Currently, I have so much snot congesting up my head and ears that I cannot seem to do anything. I blame it on spending all day Monday in an extremely dusty (yet very awesome) theater. But ever since I woke up Tuesday with snot head, I have not been able to enterain one intelligent thought. I feel like I’ve been roofied. I am not the best sick person, as I consider it to be a huge injustice that I don’t feel 100 percent, and am kept from being my most productive best, so I whine constantly. Whine. Said sick state has made me feel useless, which has of course made me feel dumb, and also funny looking, and also negative, and also forlorn. Wahh. All of the new year’s optimism – plays plays plays – sadly gone to waste.

While I could be thinking smart things about decade plays, hanging out with orphans or perhaps blind adults, spinning,  finishing the brittney spears tragic-comedy or writing a treatment, I instead ask myself  – or perhaps you, or perhaps wikipedia – what IS snot?

Just fyi, it is a viscous colloid containing antiseptic enzymes (such as lysozyme) and immunoglobulins that serves to protect epithelial cells in the respiratory, gastrointestinal, urogenital, visual, and auditory systems in mammals; the epidermis in amphibians; and the gills in fish. Snails, slugs, hagfish, and certain invertebrates also produce external mucus, which in addition to serving a protective function, can facilitate movement and play a role in communication.’

…Duh.
