If you know me, you pretty much know that I am pretty much obsessed with playwright Sarah Ruhl. I think she’s a genius. No wonder she received the MacArthur Genius Grant a few years back (something crazy like $100,000) – which she’s using to take time off to raise her baby daughter. Last night I saw her new play, Dead Man’s Cell Phone, starring Mary Louise Parker – about a woman who finds a dead man’s cell phone, and takes it upon herself to take all of his calls. She does this thing where she can be ridiculous and beautiful at the same time. Genius genius genius sooo many times. It’s inspiring.

Her next play is about the history of vibrators.

Gah. Genius.
