Cue to Cue

Tech is my by far my favorite part of making a play. At first it exists only in the rehearsal room of your head or perhaps someones living room or if you’re lucky an actual rehearsal room. But then you bring it into the space, and sit in the blue dark while the lighting designer builds cues around the actors and the sound designer plays blips of horns and phone rings and harps and you sort of just sit and watch the thing form, getting up occasionally to pace and / or find gummy bears. The designers for Going to a Place have crafted a heaven space that feels like the afterlife meets the inside of an iPhone in the best sort of way. Can’t wait to see it all come together / sit in the back / chew out all of my hair.
